Squarepusher announces new album

Following the release of a single on Ed Banger , Squarepusher (AKA Tom Jenkinson) has revealed that he’ll be releasing a new full length album, ShobaleaderOne – d’Demonstrator, on his usual label Warp. This will be available from from October 18, with the tracklisting still to be confirmed. No tracklisting or further details at this stage, though if the video trailer above is anything to go by, this isn’t going to be the moment that Squarepusher goes downtempo. Word For The Day: Spur

A spur can be thought of as a stabilizer “leg” for a kick drum . Spurs mount to the side of the kick drum and prevent it from rolling back and forth, helping to anchor it into position. Some spurs mount to a bracket on the side of the drum, others telescope from inside the drum. Most drum spurs feature rubber caps on the bottom to help the spur grip and to protect the floor the drum is resting on.
